Which provinces can each model of electric car rental be driven without charging ?

Start driving an EV and travel worry-free.

These days, electric vehicle (EV) travel has become easier and more accessible. Electric vehicle rentals, in particular, allow you to experience new technologies without having to purchase your own car. They're ideal for travelers, budget-conscious travelers, and eco-conscious travelers. However, many may wonder, "How far can I drive in an EV without stopping to recharge along the way?"

In this article, we'll take you through popular EV rentals in Thailand, including the BYD Dolphin, BYD ATTO 3, and MG Maxus 9, which can take you from Bangkok without stopping to recharge. We'll also share some travel itineraries you may have never tried before!

Who should EV rental from ? Here are some things you should know before you leave.

Although electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, electric car renatal for a road trip is still a new concept for many people. Therefore, choosing a reliable company and preparing yourself before driving an EV are important matters that should not be overlooked.

Choose a reliable car rental company - safety comes first

First of all, if you're planning to rent an EV, don't just look at the price. Choose a rental car company that :

  • is legally registered as a company.
  • has clear contact channels, such as a website, LINE, phone number, or social media.
  • has reviews or feedback from real users.
  • offers after-sales service, such as a support team in case the car encounters a problem during the trip.

One of the trusted service providers, Exclusive Car Rental, offers a wide selection of EV cars, including sedans, SUVs, and EV vans, with care from the day of booking until the rental car is returned.

Preparing for an Electric Vehicle - Even Beginners Can Drive

Many people may be unsure about the difficulty of driving an EV. Let me tell you, it's not difficult, but there are a few things you should know beforehand, such as :

  • Understand your remaining battery charge (%): Don't let your battery drop below 20% if you still have plenty of range left.
  • Learn how to use charging station apps: Download apps like EA Anywhere, PEA Volta, and EleX by EGAT before your trip.
  • Be aware of behaviors that cause your battery to drain quickly: Turning the air conditioning on high, driving fast, or frequently climbing steep slopes can all lead to a lower range than expected.
  • Learn basic charging methods: Even if you don't have to charge your car yourself, you should at least know which charger type you're using: DC or AC.

Plan your route in advance – even on long drives, you'll still have peace of mind.

Even if you choose an electric car with a range of 400–500 km, you should still plan your route in case of emergency, such as :

  • Find alternative charging stations along major routes, such as major gas stations, shopping malls, and hotels.
  • Choose routes with good mobile signal to use the app to check for charging stations.
  • Avoid steep mountain roads or roads with few rest stops.
